"Nothing's wrong with your Emolga--- and, can I just say, it's adorable. Are you from abroad?"
The Emolga spreads itself out on the bed. Nurse Miriam scritches the Pokemon behind the ear, and the young student nods hurriedly.
"Momma didn't think the schools in Lumiose were all too good, so we're here now. Anyway, thank you, Miriam!"
The kid scoops up their Emolga, which chitters happily. She notes that they have a slight Kalosian accent.
That was the first time she's had a "patient" in a while, even if the kid's Pokemon was just a little tuckered out. Mostly, people skip here, and there are some pleasant folks she appreciates, but most of the kids are...
She shakes her head and starts to smooth out the bed's blanket. Kids chat in the background, Pokemon vocalize, and the door flies open and slams against the wall. She flinches and gets ready to give a stern talking-to whatever twerp thinks it okay to---
"NURSE MIRIAM, I'm bleeding!"
The very grown-up voice of Ms. Dendra rings out into the little room, stopping the idle chatter in an instant.
Miriam jerks around, worried out of her mind, and is instantly relieved to see that Ms. Dendra's leg looks to have been mildly cut by a sharp object. Her pant leg's rolled up, and the bleeding is very slow and light. The injury has the sort of stuttering commonly seen when claws rip through the skin.
"Ms. Dendra--- please calm down. Try not to damage school property, either, I'm sure the wall didn't enjoy that. Onto the bed,"
The kids scattered about the room give a dumb stare to Dendra as she half-jogs to the bed, still clearly full of energy. Miriam sighs, yet she can't help but smile.
"Gotcha, gotcha. Y'know, uhh, training got pretty intense, and... Hawlucha kinda missed the mark!"
She sits on the low medical bed, scratching the back of her head, a little embarrassed. Miriam waves her off and gets the gauze. A bandaid would work, but the cut spans across the entire front of her foreleg, so it would take about 2 of the biggest size. A little ridiculous for a cut so shallow.
The idle chat starts back up again, as the novelty of Dendra's injury wears off, and she is confirmed to be alright. It's not that Dendra isn't often injured--- she very much is--- but she usually comes in during the quieter hours of the day.
She places the roll of gauze next to Dendra on the bed, and goes to retrieve the disinfectant from her desk. She rarely gets to use it, but this serially injured woman has been getting her to work more often.
"Always getting hurt, Ms. Dendra? Is the training that tough?"
Nurse Miriam says, with an affectionate lilt in her voice. Dendra's got a bandaid on her finger and her arm, from a few weeks ago. She shrugs and sticks her leg out so Miriam can get to the wound.
"Yeah, sometimes! I mean, every once in a while, I'll spar with my Pokemon... and they don't play nice."
She flourishes that last part of the sentence with a cheeky smirk, knowing full well she half-does it so she can get hurt and come here. It feels nice to be taken care of, and her closest friend Tulip is the distant sort...
Miriam laughs, soft and light, as she dabs the little cloth into the disinfectant liquid.
"Well, I'd hope they wouldn't. What sort of Pokemon holds back? This will sting a little, don't jerk,"
Despite giving her a warning, Dendra trembles at the sting, and Miriam has to hold her leg in place. The nurse raises an eyebrow,
"I'd think the Coach would have a higher pain tolerance?"
"I do! It's just, y'know. Different. I can take a fracture and shake that off, but."
A blush creeps onto her face as Miriam finishes up with the disinfectant, picking up the roll of gauze. Perhaps the shiver had a bit more to do with the intimacy.
Miriam brushes her hair out of her face, and Dendra stares quite obviously at her, smitten. She gets to wrapping the calf up with gauze, bringing the roll up and around it a few times.
Her deft handiwork makes Dendra want to come here 10,000,000 more times in the next 48 hours. The feeling of having someone work on her gets her hair standing up, and Miriam's gentle disposition aides in how comfortable she feels.
Miriam folds the gauze over and quickly ties a knot, happy with her work.
"Is it too tight? If not, then you're off. Just let that sit for the night, and take it off tomorrow. Should be all healed up."
Dendra fiddles with the bandage, then rolls her pant leg down which covers up most of it. She nods and slides herself off the bed.
"It's just right! Thank you for treating me, Nurse Miriam. The grind never stops!"
She nudges her for a fist bump, which Miriam returns lamely. They both end up giggling, as the skipping-student body watches on in suspect curiosity.
---
"Hawlucha, gimme a claw bump. That worked well, but make it deeper next time, Osu!"
Dendra fist bumps with her Pokemon, which gives her a questioning grunt. Her Pokemon may be a little violent, but they don't want to hurt their trainer.
She leans down and pats Hawlucha on the head, deep in thought.
"Maybe next time, I'll ask Tauros to use Raging Bull on me!"
