i love scourgespio. first let's flashback to january of 2025. i was still pretty new to the world and got into sonic because i watched jacob alpharad's game awards stream where he was sponsored by sonic movie 3. soon after i watched snapcube's tmosth dub, and espio is a major character in that game. instantly i was smitten with espio's flowery dumbassery and he became my favorite sonic character. now i don't know exactly when in march i first drew scourge, but i was like "eh i don't really like him, but i might as well draw him once", and then i accidentally made a fully rendered piece of him that i still think is one of my best scourges. which of course led me into researching archie and i ended up really really loving scourge's dumbassery too. so you have two favorite characters, for personal reasons dont really ship sonadow (its a long story), but you love yaoi...

thus scourgespio was born. i know ship names are supposed to go "dominant" first, but esp..espourge? espiourge? just doesnt sound as good but let me tell you espio is pulling the strings here. im not the first person to ship it, but im probably the first to be so devoted to it lol"" and it's not just a matter of aesthetics either. in my dark twisted mind palace i have cultivated an entire au centered around these little freaks. their relationship is NOT good (source: there are radiation symbols everywhere), but it could be worse! scourge is a trans guy who trans'ed so hard he has a personal vendetta against women, girly boys, and anything else that challenges his narrow world view (not all trans men are like this please scourge is an outlier and should NOT be counted - a trans guy). hes an awful person but espio sees potential in him. potential to get better? bah...no way. potential to be studied and navigated and cracked like a case. espio likes wearing cute clothes when he's not working, his other hobbies include meditating and destroying social lives. ok last one isn't on purpose but he does it often out of a need to understand and "fix" the people around him. they call him the psychoanalyzer. and he's too caught up in his own little world and ego to really notice the damage he's doing. an important player in this ship is actually silver the hedgehog, scourgespio as it is now simply wouldn't exist without a side of evil espilver. im ranting but its a shrine its ok. espio was kinda "with" silver for a while until he got bored and decided silver's case was closed, having helped silver navigate through feelings and the like. so espio being so supportive and then suddenly leaving for the worst green onion thing ever completely shattered silver's heart. silver and scourge have a bit of an intense rivalry that espio doesn't reeeally know about, espio does know that silver hates scourge though. now scourge is in the throes of denial about his attraction to the chameleon (sissy no good faggot boy) so he's fairly agressive towards espio in general, nothing ken penders style though you know what i mean. literally why did penders write that. espio's sage advice has actually marginally improved scourge as a guy kind of but hes still awful and says 10000 slurs and is from massachusetts, so maybe espio should give up soon. but you see, espio loves a challenge!! would you be scared if i told you a lot of this is based off of personal life experience. anyway.

basically, scourgespio is unfixable scourge and "i can fix him" espio and they make out sometimes :) and they have good colors together :)
