names
octarians and names, huh. very japanese-esque in how we handled things, using last names instead of firsts. though, usually you would only use a first name in a context where everyone around you is also close if that makes sense. like, yeah i was close with iida, but you, the reader, (presumably) were/are not, so i won't use her first name while writing a text document for you to read. sometimes you can weaponize first names though i know i definitely have (IE. 'there's nooo way ur friends with so-and-so' 'erm... [first name beam]'). i never lost the habit when it comes to insource people (houzuki... etc) but i am not last naming people in real life.

water ah yes. water. a divisive topic. i never watched that long video on water so this is just my recollection. i think it was mostly an osmosis issue. like, a little bit of water is fine, like a shower, even if it might sting a wee bit. if you're surrounded by water for a long time? stuffs gonna start seeping out and bad things will happen. but a little dip is not gonna kill you it's just going to be uncomfortable. of course i'm only referring to inkfish here.

inksports did not exist in the domes, duh, but there were murmurs of such a thing. on the surface i gather it's basically equivalent to sports irl, just more geared towards youth participants, prodigies, etc instead of very seasoned players. well there is definitely a market for those older X'ers but people mostly liked to watch young kids who were really good. personally i have 0 feelings towards inksports or idols really. i've mentioned it in the green page but i couldn't play even if i wanted to, also not particularly in the market for being picked on by like 13 year olds? idk maybe they would think the fucked up lethargic zombie thing is cool or they wouldn't who knows i didn't do any field testing

homophobia
did not exist. one thing i miss from ye olden days. it helps when your dictator is gay lmao and also who else are you gonna find hot when you're in an all girls school lets b real

how do they make the little guys
ok im not an expert on lil guy making. but i do know some things. (by lil guys i mean non humanoid octarians). first of all, they were...people!!! fans of the Media tend not to think so but like. yeah thats john octarian from the shitty sector who works in the valley. they have their own seperate schooling so it's less likely you'd form a deep bond with one of them if you were attending girls' military, but i definitely knew a few at least on last name basis. they don't really have 'childhood' or 'adulthood', but they can gain different physical traits depending on their training regimen, they grow quickly and as such are very useful in an army context. and yes they are made from lopping off a head arm (what people like to call tentacles but are not, only squids have those). humanoid octarians are made by other, more fun methods.

weapons
of which there were many, but the multi-weapon training program was only just coming into existence when i was like halfway thru schooling. ofc iida picked up the new weapons no problem but if you gave me anything other than an octoshot i simply would Not Know. if i could i would have loved to use something like the hydra splatling (what we like to use in the Video Game) sadly i'm a noodle man, truly cannot comprehend how kids lug that shit around in a match
